1. General information
The subject is an introduction to archaic and classical Greek thought. The aim is to clarify not only from what and as what the phenomenon "philosophy" is constituted in Greece, but also to provide the necessary guidelines to acquire a certain reading competence in relation to the fundamental texts of ancient thought.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), in such a way that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement: Goal 4:Quality Education; Goal 5: Gender Equality; Goal 10: Reducing Inequalities; Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; Goal 12: Responsible Production and Consumption; Goal 13: Climate Action: Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
2. Learning results
Knowledge of the intellectual, social and technical circumstances in which philosophical reflection is born. Identification of the characteristic features of philosophical discourse versus poetic and ritual discourse.
Know the texts, questions and concepts of the so-called "pre-Socratic philosophy".

4. Academic activities
At the beginning of the term there will be a methodological introduction essential to follow the subject. The fundamental texts will also be incorporated into Moodle and will be presented and commented on during the classes.
Learning activities:
Presentations of the contents of the syllabus.
Reading and commentary of texts.
Assessment tests.
5. Assessment system
Global assessment test (to be held on the date officially set by the Faculty).
The test will consist of a final exam, whose grade will account for 100% of the subject´s final grade. In this exam, a topic formulated from the contents of the subject will be developed by in writing. In order to pass the test, students need to have a thorough knowledge of the fundamental texts read and commented on during the classes, as well as the recommended studies (cf. Secondary Bibliography ).
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
The quality of the structure of the development of the topic, the pertinence of the contents and the argumentative rigor will be taken into account, as well as clarity, conciseness and precision of expression.

Global assessment test (to be held on the date officially set by the Faculty).
Type of test: Same as in the first call.
